Who: The Brunswick News
When: October 4, 2024
What: According to traditional road maps, the trip from the Golden Isles to the golden glow of Hollywood will take more than 36 hours and approximately 2,487 miles.

This opportunity comes in the form of the inaugural Golden Isles Film Festival. Being held Oct. 11 and 12 at various locations throughout downtown Brunswick, the festival is “an incubator,” for area silver screen savants, said Pryce May, an organizer and representative of the Golden Isles Film Society, the nonprofit, grassroots organization that created the inaugural event.

Who: The Brunswick News
When: April, 2024
What: The College of Coastal Georgia’s Lucas Center for Entrepreneurship took its monthly celebration of entrepreneurs to a new venue on Wednesday but continued to highlight people bringing their business ideas to life in the Golden Isles, this time giving the mic to the founders of SoGlo Art Gallery and the Golden Isles Film Festival.
Pryce May, a former College of Coastal Georgia student, knew he wanted to do something to connect the everyday people of Golden Isles with the film industry at large. He went into the Lucas Center’s entrepreneurship boot camp with that idea and came out the other side with the business model for the Golden Isles Film Festival, a nonprofit devoted to promoting independent films and as a gateway for locals into the film industry.
